| 3 Months!! |
Yup, we're in month 3 of our baby journey!
We've had quite a few milestones this month that left us exhausted ... the hardest one was taking her to get her immunizations, (boy was that ever hard) but I have to say that it was much more painful for us than it was for our Abigail. Unfortunately, she had a reaction to the shots that left her quite lethargic and with a temperature for the next few days, which translated to many sleepless nights for us.
When she got better, she had to re-learn the routine we had set for her and she had to get used to sleeping in her crib all over again (she'd been sleeping there since her 1st month). It was a very long week!
She is now back on her usual routine and sleeps happily in her crib ... what a breakthrough!
Another great breakthrough ... this one is for mommy ... has been her night sleep. She had been waking up ever 2-3 hours to feed but from one day to the next, she slept 5 hours straight! She continues to do this every night ... for now at least. "Sweet Sleep, how I've missed you"
We've enjoyed this month so much. It's beautiful to see her reactions when she experiences something for the first time, her eyes open up very wide and she starts kicking, punching and sticks her tongue out! She gets very excited. She recently discovered her hands and loves to suck on them and play with her fingers ... super cute to watch.
She loves it when daddy talks and sings to her; she coos back at him and gives special smiles for daddy!
She doesn't sleep as much during the day anymore, she has a lot more alert times, where she observes and soaks everything in. She really likes her musical, rocking chair and her little music, light toy (don't know the proper name for it).
What can we say?!
Well, for starters we are so grateful for another month of strength, courage, patience, provision, protection and health ... among other things.
Our little bundle of joy is a daily blessing that teaches us something new everyday and allows us to experience and understand God's love in a way we never have before.
She is growing so BIG, it's hard to believe. It will be a real joy to watch her over the next 5 or 6 months, that's when she will start to discover this strange place she finds herself living in. Playing music and singing to her is a wonderful way to instil a love of music, we did it with our daughter to, and she grew up to love music and sings as well. We'll be away for a month but look forward to seeing how she's grown when we get back.
